On Friday, August 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., come and explore the late-summer splendor of a beautifully restored ravine and garden during a spirited early evening gathering. Noted garden designer Dorothy Hebert will discuss the evolution of this ever-changing landscape, which blends woodland conservancy and formal gardens with sculptural and architectural whimsy. 32nd Annual Port Clinton Art Festival
On August 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Port Clinton Art Festival, Highland Park’s renowned summer event, returns to the city center with even more prestigious offerings than years past. Recognized by Sunshine Artist Magazine as one of the top-rated festivals in the nation, Port Clinton Art Festival is one of the most successful juried art festivals and attracts more than 250,000 art enthusiasts from places near and far.
More than 260 of the world’s most celebrated artists come together to showcase their work over the course of the weekend, creating an atmosphere brimming with renowned creativity. Alongside established artists, a youth art division celebrates the talents of young artists ages 18 and under, offering them the opportunity to participate, exhibit, and experience the inner workings of an art festival. From onsite interactive art demonstrations by master artists to scavenger hunts designed for kids, the Port Clinton Art Festival truly has something for everyone.
Glencoe Junior Kindergarten Community Fun Fair

Kick off the new school year with activities including a giant slide, pony rides, bouncy houses, games, a DJ and more, along with cotton candy, hot dogs and pizza. The event will take place on August 29th from 10-2pm in Henry J. Kalk Park, Glencoe.
Village of Lake Bluff: Public Safety Day Open House
The Lake Bluff Volunteer Fire Department and Police and Public Works Departments will host the Public Safety Day Open House on August 29th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the Public Safety Building (45 E. Center Avenue). The community is encouraged to stop by see the many vehicles that are used by public safety personnel on a daily basis to save lives and perform other public services.
Food and refreshments will be provided by the Metropolitan Emergency Support Service, a volunteer-run organization that provides support to on-site emergency personnel.
