WINNETKA – The Lakefront Advisory Committee presented the Winnetka Park District Board of Commissioners with a draft version of the 2030 Winnetka Waterfront Master Plan at the Jan. 21, 2016 Park Board meeting and was reviewed by the Board at the Feb. 11, 2016 Committee Meeting. Approval of this plan is expected by the Board of Commissioners at the Feb. 25, 2016 Board meeting, 6:30 p.m. at the WPD Community Room, 540 Hibbard Road. The public is invited to attend. This Master Plan is the culmination of approximately a year’s worth of work by the Lakefront Advisory Committee, which comprised community volunteers, park board liaisons and staff and represents the long-term vision for all five lakefront properties.
The process was guided by the professional services of The Lakota Group (Project Leader/Landscape Architects), Gewalt Hamilton Associates (Civil Engineering), Shabica & Associates (Bluff Restoration and Coastal Engineering), Baird & Associates (Coastal Engineering) and OKW Architects (Recreation Architect/Facility Assessments). Community input was garnered through focus groups and 6 sets of public meetings throughout the process.
