A Northbrook woman and her husband and daughter will return to court this Wednesday, July 22, after allegedly stealing more than $4.2 million in toys.

Lela Bogdanov has awaited trial at her at Weller Lane home, allowed out only for medical appointments, court appearances and meetings with her lawyer. Bogdanov’s attorney requested special consideration because of her “horrific health history” and recent abdominal surgery, CBSlocal reported.

Bogdanov is accused of pocketing goods, using a long, black skirt specifically tailored for shoplifting. The items include American Girl dolls and children’s laptops – from stores in at least six states, according to court documents. Feds investigating Bogdanov say she sold the stolen items on eBay.

Bogdanov has been in the custody of her son, who is not implicated by federal prosecutors, on a $1 million bond secured by the family’s Northbrook home.
