LAKE BLUFF – American Legion Post 510 will host a PTSD Service Dog demonstration and discussion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2 in the Community Room of the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building.
Paws Assisting Wounded Warriors founder Pam Barnett will bring a veteran and canine partner to demonstrate how the two blend into a Certified Team.
Barnett will cover dog selection, training, maintenance and finally meeting and pairing up with a certified veteran. The veteran will discuss the benefits of a canine companion.
“Post 510 is devoted to seeking help for our veterans, particularly those afflicted with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The meeting is open to all. Visitors are welcome,” according to Post Commander David Cimarrusti.
