Glencoe: There is a School Day-Off Camp at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Children will participate in high-quality learning activities with experienced teachers who use inquiry-based, hands-on activities. The day’s activities will connect nature to a range of themes including art, cuisine, and conservation. Glencoe: School Day Off Fun at Watt’s Below Zero– Celebrate everything winter with ice skating, snowy arts and crafts, icy carnival games, face painting, and more! Throughout the morning, be sure to check out Green Valley Dog Drivers dog sled demonstrations and live ice sculpting by Art Below Zero! We’ll even have a special ice canvas for children to paint. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be available; the concession stand will also be open to purchase snacks. We’ll also be giving away Blackhawks memorabilia!
Glenview: Kohl Children’s Museum will be having a Winter Wonderland on Friday January 15th from 5:30 p.m. till 8:00 pm. Take an amazing kiddie train ride through the holiday lights of Habitat Park, plus enjoy a musical concert, winter crafts, a special Frozen guest and more at our annual Winter Wonderland event. Tickets are $24 per person; $14 for members. Tickets required. Don’t miss this evening of winter activities, including: Rides through the holiday lights in Habitat Park aboard our polar express kiddie train. The museum will also be extended hours till 5:00 p.m. on Monday January 18th in observance of MLK Day.
Glenview: The Glenview Park District will be having special open gym hours on Monday January 18th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come out to Park Center for extended open gym.
Gurnee: Jump America Indoor Trampoline Park will have Open Jump times all weekend. They will also have an $18 per person open jump special starting at 11:00 a.m. on MLK Day. Bring the kids and let them jump their sillies out while getting exercise too!
Lake Bluff: Artesian Ice Rink will be open for skating and winter time fun!

Lake Forest: Gorton: Drop-In-Center will host a “HERO” THEMED MINI-CAMP!” on Monday January 18th. Contact Kristy at dicdirector@gortoncenter.org to sign up. Mini-camps are from 9:00-1:00 and include lunch.
Northbrook: The Northbrook Symphony– Celestial Brilliance will be held on Sunday January 17th from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m at the Sheely Center for the Performing Arts, 2300 Shermer Road in Northbrook. The eternal brilliance of Mozart’s genius is once again on display in a trio of major works. The masterful young pianist Andrew Guo from the Music Institute of Chicago Academy will perform Mozart’s happiest piano concerto, complete with its charming theme and variation finale. Framing the concert will be two of Mozart’s most exuberant symphonies, for a total of three heavenly masterworks in one afternoon!
Winnetka: Gullen’s Pond, located at 590 Hibbard Road, is OPEN for skating! Times are as follows: 4:00-5:45 for Youth Open Hockey14 & Under, 6:00-7:00 p.m. for public skating, and 7:15-8:45 p.m. for Open Hockey 15 & over.
Winnetka: The Fabulous Fable Factory will be held at the Winnetka Community House on January 18th from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. The Fabulous Fable Factory tells the story of Monroe; a 12-year old boy who wanders into an abandoned factory and accidentally trips a lever activating the living factory of fable creators. This musical adventure recreates some of Aesop’s most famous fables, such as “The Ant and the Grasshopper”, “The Tortoise and the Hare”, and “The Lion and the Mouse”. The bright and charming songs will entertain adults and children alike. Children under 2 are free.
