Geraldine Yucknut, 97, of Deerfield, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in the early hours of January 10th, 2016. Gerry was born in Ogdensburg, New York in 1918 to Theodore and Eunice Ward. She had three brothers; Harold, Charles and Thomas. She met and married Stephen H. Yucknut in 1952. She worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg, New York for over 35 years. She ran the St. Vincent DePaul charity on Ford Street for 15 years.
She is survived by her son, Stephen, his wife Andrea, her grandchildren Emily, Elizabeth, Jack and Henry, and many, many nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful person who always had a smile on her face and a kind word to offer. She lived a long life filled with love and happiness and will be greatly missed. We are all better off for having known and loved her. Rest in peace Yia Yia. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 11:00 am at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd. Highland Park, IL. Interment private.
