Woman Sought in Bank Robberies

WINNETKA – A Chase bank at the intersection of Elm Street and Greenbay Road was robbed Friday in Winnetka.

Police suspect that the same person also robbed a bank last week in Elmhurst.

Police are searching for a woman who was photographed by a surveillance camera in both robberies. Winnetka Police said the woman approached a teller and presented a note demanding money. The suspect is described as a white female, 22-25 years old, with short sandy hair. The woman was wearing a black hat, a large dark colored sweat shirt or sweater, dark pants, and white gym shoes.

No weapon was displayed in the robbery.

The Chicago Tribune reported that law enforcement suspect that the same woman robbed a bank in Elmhurst last week. On Oct. 29 the Bank of America at 205 N. Addison Ave. was robbed in the same way as the Winnetka bank.
