GLENVIEW – The Board of Trustees approved liquor licenses for two local restaurants at its regularly scheduled meeting on Nov. 3, which lasted just 15 minutes.
Seoul Garden, a full-service Korean restaurant at 3420 Milwaukee Ave., is now owned by Country Gim-Bab Inc. The board approved a new Class A liquor license for the new owner, which allows for the sale of all alcoholic beverages.
HK Banjum Chicago, a full-service Chinese/Korean restaurant at 1615 Milwaukee Ave., Suite #105, was issued a Class B Liquor License, which allows for the sale of beer and wine. HK Banjum Chicago is expected to open this month.
“That’s good to see people expanding their business right here in our town,” Board President Jim Patterson said during the meeting.

- Mark Demsky was approved as chair of the Appearance Commission
- The board approved a resolution authorizing the execution of a lease with Verizon Wireless to install telecommunications equipment on the new monopole at Fire Station 6, located at 1215 Waukegan Road.
- The board approved a resolution to authorize a contract with Wayne Endre Contracting for snow/ice removal services for the upcoming winter season for a total amount of $74,207.
- The board is considering an ordinance to increase the number of Class B Liquor Licenses from 18 to 21. The Village believes there will be more applications in the upcoming months. This item will appear on the consent agenda at the next meeting on Nov. 17.
